Who is Nellie-Mae?

Welcome. We are Tim & Jen. People think we are a little crazy. Our life journey may indeed confirm that. We have been married for 11 years. We have two 8 yr old boys & a 6 yr old daughter. We focus on our faith, our family, and our dreams and have gone hard after them at all costs. We've had many addresses, many babies, many jobs, but only 1 main mission. To live out our passions and make what we do matter. My husband went back to school to get his HVAC degree and now has the job of his dreams. In 2010 we launched our dream to renovate houses. Although our babies were only 3 and 1, we loved it so much we decided to do it again. We turned the 1st house renovation into our first rental property, Nellie Mae. We moved into our current house, The Hope House, summer of 2012. Tim works full time as a Commercial Technician, rips apart and renovates our home by hand, and is still a pretty high energy awesome dad! Oh yeah, in 2013 we decided to adopt. My primary job is a stay at home wifey and mama to our 3 precious children. I shop and budget for the homes we buy. Our main mission is to know Christ, make Him known, and live out our God-given talents with no regrets.

Before Family Room and Back Porch

Here is the main living area, the family room. This room has 3 layers of linoleum. And it came with a free end table. Awesome.
This is the back porch off the kitchen that leads to the backyard, WHICH I CANNOT WAIT TO SHOW PICS OF WHAT IS BACK THERE! Anyway, this room is good to note because we will be turning it into a utilty room/mudroom. The washer/dryer/storage will be out here. We already have a front porch and huge backyard so we might put in a paver patio.
We finally took the kids to see it and David is estatic about it! He tells everyone its a little dirty, but daddy is going to paint it and it will be all new! He also found a "hidden treasure" dump truck buried in the backyard and that made him fall in love with the house finding buried toys.

That's all for today! I can't wait to post pics of the backyard, let's just say we are going to need a rollaway dumpster and a bobcat!

  1. My brother and sis-in-law just found hardwoods in their bedrooms. It's amazing to me that people want to cover them up, but a neat surprise to find for you!
